“Happy Teacher’s Day!” — says no one to me anymore. That season of my life has come and gone but the most precious moments are etched in my heart forever.
“Teacher, I have a secret, I love you more than you love me! I love you 100 times!”
“Teacher, I know how to read now because you taught me!”
“Can we dance with the fireflies again, Teacher?” — after I hang little yellow paper circles on strings, tied them to our fingers and danced with them.
“Thank you, Teacher, for being like my Mommy!”
“Teacher, is it art time yet?”
Oh how I loved and adored them!!! Even if one mischievous boy threw a shoe at me once.
I can’t believe I have touched the future because I have been a teacher once. It makes me even prouder when I hear that my students are all grown up now, finishing uni, traveling the world, spreading their own light.
Still, I’d give anything for a chance to dance with the fireflies with them again.
